GRANBURY -- Alan "Lance" Alverson, 45, went to be with his heavenly Father on Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2015. Funeral: 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 4, at Lucas Funeral Home, 517 N. Sylvania Ave., Fort Worth. Interment: Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Lance was born Feb. 25, 1969, in Fort Worth to Ken and Patsy Alverson. He attended Eastern Hills High School 1984-1986. Lance loved his job as a truck driver and enjoyed sharing his daily "My View From Work" pictures and posts with his Facebook family and friends. Lance was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan his entire life. He also loved the great outdoors, enjoying fishing and camping. He loved music of all kinds, from Metallica to Neil Diamond. Lance loved the Lord with all his heart and openly shared his faith with everyone he encountered, and was often eager to pray for anyone he felt was in need of or was asking for prayer. Lance touched many lives, was loved by many people and will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Dean Alverson; his maternal and paternal grandparents; and his best friend, Jojo. Survivors: Loving wife, Shari Alverson; his beautiful daughter, Ciera Alverson Rog and husband, Joseph; parents, Henry and Patsy Cowan; stepmother, Vet Alverson; his grandchildren, Gavin, Kenna and Ryleigh Jo, whom he loved very much; brothers, Dean, Chris and Tommy; sisters, Valerie, Wendy, Tami and Sherri; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins; and a host of friends.
