Dolores Walker Love passed away at home on Wednesday, June 8, 2016, surrounded by her family. She was born at Fort Ringgold, Texas on November 20, 1924 to Walter Wesley Walker and Paulina Marie Walker, née Hornung. She attended Hampton High School in Hampton, Virginia and finished at Mineral Wells High School in Mineral Wells, Texas. Dolores married the love of her life, Andrew Edward Love, on March 3, 1945. They were married until his death in 2001. Dolores embraced all that life offered her, and she loved every minute of it. She knew how to laugh and have fun, and everyone wanted to laugh with her. With her husband Edward she traveled the world, and after he was gone she traveled with her children and grandchildren. She took her teenaged granddaughters to Paris for lunch at the Eiffel Tower, swam with the dolphins in Australia, passed through the locks of the Panama Canal, and rode a camel to the pyramids in Egypt. She truly lived large, and by the end she had used up her entire heart. It is impossible to express how dearly she will be missed. Dolores is survived by her two daughters, Elisabeth Love Gay, Ann Marie Love and partner Sandra Soria; son, David Byron Love and wife Estrella Gancedo; grandchildren, Anna Katherine Love, Lydia Marie Gay, Margaret Ellen Gay, Davy Love, Sara Love and Mark Love; brother, August Walker; sisters Catherine Hopkins, Dorothy Harrah and husband Brent; and many more family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Edward Love; son, Vincent Love; brothers, Billy Walker, Jack Walker, and Hazen Walker, and sister Elizabeth Cooney; and treasured family member, Gillian Love.
