G.W. Hilton, 103, a retired carpenter and World War II veteran died on Sunday, December 12, 2021 at Baylor Scott & White Health in Fort Worth, Texas after a brief and courageous battle with cancer. Funeral will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, December 17, 2021 at Calvario Funeral Chapel, 111 West Northside Dr. in Fort Worth. Burial to follow at Oakwood Cemetery, 701 Grand Avenue, Fort Worth, Texas. Visitation from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. on Thursday, December 16, 2021. Rev. Scott Strother will officiate. G.W. Hilton was born May 11, 1918 in Decatur, Texas. He was a devout Christian and a lifelong member of 90 plus years at Cates St. Church of Christ in Bridgeport, Texas. He was a loving Dad, grandfather and friend. He was a member at Stockyard Masonic Lodge and a 50 year member of the Moslah Temple in Fort Worth. G.W. was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 58 years, Margarita Catherine "Kate" Hilton, the 1st set of twins of 1946 in Fort Worth, Stanford Ray & Stanley Roy Hilton, his parents, numerous brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews and his beloved grandson, David Alan Turman. Survivor's: daughter, Sallie Spotanski of Granbury, 8 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. A special "thank you" to the VITAS staff at Baylor Scott and White Health who provided excellent care and comfort during his brief illness and to Meals on Wheels staff and volunteers.
